The Big Questions
Your questions, answered
Trust, accuracy, pricing, the team and the market — here's everything you might be wondering about build2fly.
🤖Why would I trust AI to design an aircraft?+
You don't have to trust the AI — you can verify the airplane. build2fly combines AI-driven design with physics-based validation and real-time flight simulation. Every aircraft is checked against engineering principles and can be flown virtually before you spend a cent on materials. The AI accelerates the design; the simulation and engineering checks give you confidence in the result.
🎯Who is build2fly really for?+
Builders & DIY enthusiasts, RC hobbyists, and aerospace engineering students (roughly ages 16–28). We're starting with students because they're easy to reach through universities, courses and labs — and they stress-test our AI under real engineering constraints. Then we expand to the wider hobbyist community.
🔥What makes you different from existing tools and communities?+
We're not just a chat layer on top of old workflows. build2fly is built on aerospace-specific methodologies developed with real aerospace engineers and researchers — design rules and optimization techniques that aren't publicly available. And it's end-to-end: from an idea in plain language to engineering design, CAD models, construction drawings and a parts shopping list. As more people build through the platform, it keeps getting smarter.
♻️Why switch from how I already build or buy RC planes?+
Today, RC design is a high-friction loop: design → prototype → test → crash → redesign. Every iteration costs time, money or expert skill. build2fly changes the unit of progress from 'physical iteration' to 'simulated, validated iteration' — you experiment in a constrained design space where feasibility is checked before you build. Less cost per try, faster path to your first successful flight.
🚀What do I actually get on day one?+
Even the first paid level gives you what you need to build: the engineering design, construction drawings, a smart shopping list and CAD files. Want to go deeper into the 'why' behind the aircraft? The Pro level adds professional and research features for people who want to understand the details, not just build.
💸Why pay $15 or $20 a month?+
Because we solve a problem with no efficient alternative: custom RC aircraft design without aerospace expertise. Ready-made designs often cost more than a monthly subscription — for a single plane that may not even fit your needs. Free community resources mean endless trial-and-error. With build2fly you produce personalized, engineered designs in minutes, and each subscription covers multiple full design cycles.
📈How big is this market?+
The total RC aircraft market is about $1.5B. Online stores now drive over 42% of global sales — roughly $600M, our serviceable market. Our 5-year target is around $40M, based on realistic year-over-year startup growth assumptions.
📣How will you reach customers?+
Instagram and YouTube to attract the DIY and hobbyist community, and LinkedIn to connect with aerospace students and professionals. With a healthy LTV-to-CAC ratio, acquisition stays efficient as we scale.
👥Why is this team the right team?+
Our founders combine AI, programming and real aerospace expertise. Mehdi Amiri (technical lead) is an aerospace student specializing in aircraft design. Hamed Jahantigh (chairman) holds a bachelor's in aerospace and a master's in computer science. Business and marketing are led by an experienced business developer. It's a rare blend of AI know-how and genuine aircraft-design knowledge.
❤️Is this a mission or a business?+
Both — and it starts with a need. RC building is currently expensive, challenging and full of friction, yet people keep spending on it. We make it cheaper and far less painful. Solving a real, expensive problem that everyone in this space struggles with is exactly what makes the business sustainable.
Still curious? Just build one.
The fastest way to get it is to try it. Describe a plane and watch the AI engineer it.
